Stupid things we’ve done in the shop.

    I’ll start.

A few months ago I had a heater tube on the F-150 that was leaking. To change it out I had to pull the top half on the engine apart and use a punch to bent the tube inside.

Then to get the pieces out I had to pull the thermostat.

Put everything back together and things worked great.

Until last week. The truck over heated twice.

Some idiot (aka me) put the thermostat in backwards.

Oh well, live and learn. It’s fixed now.

Oh this thread isn't what I thought it was going to be. Guess I'm not going to bring up starting myself on fire. Or Dirty having a big tire fall on him yesterday.

I have heard of that happening. However, I refuse to say where I heard that.

Stupid things we have done in the shop..........Hmmmm.

If it was just stupid things in general, I would have ton's of material. There was a period of time where whenever I would say "Hey watch this" it usually resulted in a trip to the Emergency Room.........and either stitches, staples, a cast or worse.

On Three consecutive Friday's I received a ticket from the same State Trooper for exactly the same violation, 78 mph in a 55 mph zone, in exactly the same location.........and all 3 tickets were written within 10 minutes of the same time of day on each Friday......

Or the time I got 4 tickets going to Florida driving a pickup truck and open car trailer. I got tickets in Indiana, Tennessee and Georgia and the stopped in Daytona Beach. When the Florida officer asked me why I was headed down there and I told him to pick up my new Corvette, he replied "That's exactly what you need. Did you know you would be famous by time you got your new car?"

Or the time coming home at 3am that I decided to see if my super fast red sports car really could outrun the police radios and Mrs. Bear was with me......(hint, we didn't get caught.....)

Or the time I bought a new semi truck and race car trailer to haul my race cars without mentioning it to my wife...........

Or the time I got stopped on my Harley in a Sioux Indian reservation for doing 105 mph in a 55mph zone..........

Or the time I had a guy point a loaded double barrel shotgun at me over the counter in the store because I wouldn't allow him to return his 8 track tape because he didn't like it........

Or the time.........I faxed back something I had gotten from a governmental agency with a 7 letter message in bold black marker and an exclamation point and it resulted in two armed Federal Agents at my front door at 7:30am the next morning..........

But since this is limited to things in the shop, nothing really comes to mind........I will have to think about it.

Let's see. You didn't use Coleman fuel to light your BBQ grill did you? Or...get hit in the ribs with a table saw kick back?
