    Black Raspberries

Finally got to picking. I should have been last week, but TOO HOT, so I wimped out Finally a COOLER day.

I only brought two containers (gotta pace yourself, as O.C. would say) I had them filled in a little over an hour. I hope there is enough for a pie!!!

Hey BigJim55 come on over for a piece of pie and ice cream on the side.

We have both ‘round here-raspberries (black and red) come on before the blackberries which will be ripe in a few weeks-i just checked on mine. Along with strawberries, blueberries, mulberries, currants, etc.

    Black raspberries,, see the "stickers"??

    Bird nest in the berries,,,

Boysenberries for 10 feet, then blackberries for the rest of the row,,

That pic was 2014, you can not get between the row and the fence anymore,,,

I guess I will buy a gasoline hedge trimmer and cut the blackberries back away from the fence this fall,,

The thing about these "tame" blackberries is the berry size,,

Look at the last joint of your thumb,, the blackberries grow many berries as big as your thumbs last section,,,
Most wild blackberries around here grow berries smaller than your thumb nail,,

Everybody loves picking the big berries,,,

I'm surprised there are any Black Raspberries to pick this year.
    Its been so dry.
I'm sure there won't be any blackberries. We do have both here.

    Best Raspberry is Yellows!!
