    5 gal buckets

I bought 9 buckets at an auction, all stacked up. Two of them are stuck to the one below. I usually get a hammer and tap around until it lets go, but these two won't budge. So, how do you get yours apart? BTW, I don't know if these are cleaned or have oil/hydraulic fluid remnants in them.

OMG... welcome to my world. I have a stack of about 8 or so and sometimes they stick together so tight that it is nearly impossible to get them loose.

I'll be watching to see if someone has a magic solution.

Hopefully they're not "glued together" in some way. You will need to try to break the vacuum on them. Can you slide something long, skinny and flat in between the buckets? Butter knife, screwdriver, paint stir stick, etc?

Just curious - what's the going auction price for 9 five gallon buckets that are stuck together?

I have tried all sorts of tricks to get them apart but in the end I just get mad and beat the he!! out of them with hopes that after the plastic is done flying I'll end up with just one useable bucket. It works out well because most of the time it's only one bucket I'm needing anyways.

Try twisting-- grip the bottom bucket with your ankles or strap it to something. Turn the top one (use the handle or handle mounts for leverage) and begin lifting gently while it spins. Always works for me...
