How's the weather at your place? - September 2018

A day late and a dollar short I guess. I lost track of the days and months it seems. And it's the weather that causes this for me - kind of ironic.....

Welcome to the September 2018 weather thread!

I thought I would start with some stats from my weather station from August -

    Average high temp - 81.8
    Average low temp - 63.8
    Overall average - 71.1
    Departure from normal - +2.9
    Average dewpoint - 68.2 (yuck!)

    Rainfall - 2.21
    Average for August - 4.42
    Year to date - 32.93
Average year to date - 25.53

Positively sultry this morning - oppressive humidity. No air is moving. 71* with 100% humidity - calling for a high of 86* today. Supposed to be like this until Friday....

September....tear another’s month off calendar towards retirement . Hot humid wet here. Showers overnight and raining this morning. Humidity is horrendous and looks to stay until end of week. Not sure when we are going to be able to cut hay again as rain in forecast for next several days.

Really looking for some drying big time, unfortunately none in sight.
Weak tropical wave should be moving into the Gulf from south Florida this coming week.

So far 2.33" of rain in Sept.

    So far this year:

Another hot & humid day.....with another 4 or 5 to go in the forecast before some relief. 75 now and headed to 94.

With the predicted temps for the week being the same I will wait at least another week before aerating the yard, seeding and spreading topsoil. Trying to get the part of the yard back where it was beat up with the patio work last year. All the clay that got dug up and driven over by the skidloader undid the previous 5 years work getting it semi-fertile. Oh well, just another activity that keeps me from needing a health club membership.

Got our usual 1/2" of rain this morning (like clockwork lately), another batch approaching from the Gulf.

This pattern is really starting to get old.

With the 2” of rain now sitting in the gauge that makes 18” of rain in fourteen days. I mowed the yard Friday night as it was the only dry time. Finished a little after 9pm. Rained again yesterday, last night and all day today. We have at least a 50% of rain everyday for the next week. The mosquitoes are ridiculous right now. Out 24 hours a day.

Spent today in the garage making props for my my wife’s school musical. Got the door frames made but the humidity just wiped me out so hinges and plywood will have to wait until next weekend.

Seeing CT’s monthly stats always makes me go back and look at mine. Our station seems to just give the extremes, not averages.

Today’s high was 88°. 73° right now after 0.02” of rain came through.
