I found this site looking for the ends of the internet while I would spend many hours in the hospital. My wife, who is doing fine visits occasionally due to her having a kidney transplant a couple of years ago. High temps from the flu etc sometimes gets her a day or two stay at the U of M. Both my parents have spent all last summer taking either chemo or radiation, or in her case both. This is my dads second go at chemo. He has his first go with it three years ago.
My dad and I could have been twins. I, like most sons, likes most everything he did except in tractors. He grew up with International cubs. I liked them till MTD bought them. I was a closet Deere fan so when I came home with my new 445 garden tractor, it was like 'Guess who's coming to dinner!'
Anyway, sitting in dark hospital room I found this site and enjoyed the posts and fellowship. Seems like some of you are family. I like that.
My dad took his last breath here on earth a couple weeks ago. He then took his first breath in Heaven standing before God. I hope God is okay with his John Deere comments.
It has been pretty hard on mom. I have lost lots of sleep and lots of work. But I would not trade a minute of it.
My sister in in-law has worked at the funeral home for 30 years or so which meant I had an "in" and got to drive the coach since it was too darn cold to lead the procession on his Indian Motorcycle liked I always dreamed.
Being GM guys, I know my dad was relieved that I was driving and the Lincoln actually made it.
See ya pops...I'll be along in due time.
