    Stuck.....

Bad cold today (Dayquil, chicken soup, and old movies for me). Snowed in here at the rental house, can't get to the new house where the tractor is to go play in the snow. (4-inches of new snow topped with an ongoing coating of freezing rain has closed the roads out to our new place.) Before those of you poor souls in New England fall off your chairs laughing, it isn't the 4-inches of snow that bothers me - it's the icy coating beneath and on top that stops you cold.

Nothing to do but hang around the house, look longingly out the window and dream of seat time with my Deere.

Ok, it's not THAT bad... my other Dear (Tractor Girl) is taking good care of me, I'm just a lousy patient, as most doctors are.

Road out in front of our rental house is in the photo. Tractor Girl gave me permission to get off the couch and step outside for a moment to snap that photo (I had to ask *really* nicely!) Friends called to say that the road (2 miles uphill and winding) is considerably deeper as it hasn't been plowed even once today.

If we were living at the new place, I would bundle up and get some seat time come hell or high water.

But since I can't get there, the next best thing is hanging out with GTT pals here.

    Tough crowd.

Fizxman, look on the bright side. The 4" of snow you got will probably be long gone before it even starts to disappear further north.

That's what I'm telling myself, anyway...

I'm going to start boxing up all this winter "wonderland" and then ship it to Gizmo2's house!! I'll tell the delivery driver to just "leave it at his door"!

    Cure

My BIL (brother-in-law) swears that the best cure for the common cold is alcohol, and lots of it.
Hope you're stocked up, or at least there is a St. Bernard rescue team nearby?

... and for all those who are saying "he isn't dealing with REAL winter!!!", you are absolutely right!

I left central Illinois for California after a record year where Woodford Co. got over 110 inches of snow, and even now that I've come back to the Midwest, I'm still smart enough not to live anywhere like that anymore!

Seriously though, you folks dealing with the New England nightmare have my *ahem* deepest sympathies.
