Have you ever done this? Tractor operating to non-tractor operating moment

I had a long day at work so I am sitting here sipping a martini and thinking "okay, I'll share this, why not"

The other day I had the pleasure of having a nice long session on my tractor moving firewood when I had to get off and move my car to put the tractor away.

I had to put the car in reverse but instead of trying to shift gears my foot went to look for the reverse pedal on the floor of the car. Oddly enough it wasn't there.

So immediately realizing my mistake I grinned to myself and moved the car by shifting into reverse.

Have any of you had a tractor operating to a non-tractor operating "moment"?

    Maybe I'm getting senile.

Whew, that was close.... I thought you were going to say something like "then my car crashed into the wall."

I'm glad nothing came about that tiny little incident. Did you look around to see if anybody witnessed you?

Nope, never had anything ever happen like that.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Every time I get in our Toyota Sienna mini van to drive it, I turn the wipers on...because that's where the gear selector is in my work and personal trucks

I had just the opposite experience. I had just got my murray tractor, so naturally I was using it ALLOT.
Now, these old mowers have the clutch/brake pedal on the left side. Normally, I don't use the clutch on the tractor very often. I switched from mower to tractor, and backed up between the corral and butchering area. I wanted to stop, so instead of flipping the pr from reverse to neutral, I hit the clutch. Of course, the tractor didn't stop, because of the downhill slope I was on. It took a second to figure out that I needed to hit the brake. Fortunately, no one saw me

I've tried to shift a non shift vehicle. Surprisingly there is no clutch petal. How is it that an auto trans with no clutch you still shift it into natural when trying to shift?

GX335 tractor has brake on the right. 1026 tractor has brake on the left. I don't know how may times I've alternated waving my feet around in the air going for the brake. Feels dumb, looks alot dumber if anybody is watching... So here's what I do, I just make like my ankle is cramped and move it around a bit then hit the pedal.

But that's simply not as funny as learning 4 BH levers to 2, now that can be entertaining to watch!

I've done that a few times in the past. See a traffic light turn red up ahead and step on the clutch and reach for the shifter only to feel like an idiot because neither one of them are there....

I have almost busted the stupid turn signal stalk off the column of our 2500HD, while trying to back up.

The real embarrassing thing is, you flip the "Power reverser" and tap the gas pedal...and the truck still goes forward, while you're looking out the back window.

It's even worse when switching between a couple different tractors, with different control locations, and jumping in a Manual trans. Jeep or truck.
I do it every year, after 3-4 days straight in one, and then jump into another.
