RIP Ric Ocasek, frontman of the Cars, dead at 75.

The music world takes another hit:

Ric Ocasek, Lead Singer of The Cars, Dead in New York at 75 - NBC New York

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Ric Ocasek, lead singer of the rock band The Cars, died Sunday in New York at age 75.
Police said they received a call around 4 p.m. for an unconscious male at a townhouse on East 19th Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement sources confirmed the deceased was Ocasek.
Ocasek and his band were inducted into the Rock Hall in 2018. The institution described the band as "hook-savvy with the perfect combo of new wave and classic rock."

How did all of these rockers get old? Funny thing is back when they were hitting it hard, 75 seemed ancient, but all of a sudden, they found themselves there........

As far as I am concerned 90% of the great music came from the 70's, 80's and some in the 90's........Since that time, I have heard or found very little "new music", which is of interest to me............

I saw Eddie Money in concert several years ago. Sturgis does a great job at attracting many of the artists which produced some of the music I most appreciate. Thinking back at the number of top quality concerts I have been fortunate to attend through my visits to Sturgis and specifically the Buffalo Chip, its really been worth the time and effort to get out there.

Aerosmith, Foghat, Lynard Skinner (3x), Kid Rock (3x and one of my favorite concert performers, very professional and a interesting guy to talk to and hang with) Montgomery Gentry (2x), Toby Keith (2x), Tim McGraw (2x), Doobie Brothers, Blue Oyster Cult, Ozzie Osbourne, 3 Doors Down, Willie Nelson, Alice Cooper, Nazareth, Def Leopard, Styx, Skid Row, Loverboy, Motley Crue, Buck Cherry, ZZ top, Doobie Brothers, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Def Leopard, Bob Dylan and the list goes on and on...........

Sad to see these musicians passing away, they created the music which many of us relate to and much of the music which formed the sound track of our lives.

As Joe Walsh said on Darryl’s House “There’s no human element anymore. No mojo. All the new stuff is done by pushing buttons and belting out nonsense”.
