    Cutouts should never exceed 1/3 of the rib width. I would reinforce both sides of that hole or run a long 2x4 "sister" along the top of the rib.

    That's nuts. Get some reinforcement on that puppy; whether it be sistered lumber or steel strapping.

    The only saving grace is that it's a round hole instead of a square one where it's likely to fail in the corners.

    I have the same type in my house. They have precut huge a#@ holes like that from the factory. So you can run duct work

    It was windy here today, like Wyoming windy! Came home and saw this, luckily that was all that came down - so far anyway.




    So I put the Artillian grapple on on quickly and made a few trip to the neighbors burn pile.

    Actually, it gets burned once a year at the last Bluegrass concert, pretty big showing, and the local fire department is on hand to light it and keep watch for a few hours till is burns down. Make your plans now to be here
