engineer/harness boots - what brands are good?

For some reason I'm getting the itch for a pair of engineer or harness boots. I've had good luck with White's boots in the past, and they just came out with the Nomad. Wesco is kind of the name a lot of people think of when you mention engineer or harness boots, and Wesco has the Boss, and a model just called the Harness. I am kind of leaning towards the Harness just because all of those straps and rings look kind of bad-ass. Didn't Buddy Repperton wear a pair of them in Christine?

What other brands of engineer or harness boots do any of you guys have? I prefer something that is rebuildable and not disposable. Comfort and durability are my main concern as I'll probably be wearing them occasionally for work, not just walking around.

You would be "Bad Ass" on your 2520 with a pair of those. I think you should go bar hopping with your 2520 and loader. I'm getting frightened just typing this.

    LMAO!!!

Riding the 2520 with the harness boots and an old leather jacket. No helmet of course. I'd be a real chick magnet.

They gotta be comfortable. You have to try them out by kicking a sand bag. The first time you "put the boots" to someone, you don't want to get a foot injury; that would be embarrassing.

Many years ago with a different crowd, a friend always wore steel toe work boots everywhere. Heck, I think he wore them with shorts all summer. One day we were picking on him and someone asked why he always wore them. He said, "because sneakers don't hurt as much when I kick you in your head." He had a way with words.

I'm hoping to never put the boot to anyone (although my kids tempt me). I'll end up getting a pair and post what I get. I need to get them broken in before winter.

I don't know for sure, but if you got a pair, I bet you would be asked to leave the state of Texas

I thought it was state law in Texas for all boots to be pointed for that very reason

rgd has a 2520. Maybe it will be the official footwear of the 2520? How much would it cost to have the sheetmetal on a 2520 painted black? The yellow decals would still work with it.
