Something to get your day going

I grew up listening to and worshiping all of the horn bands during the late '60's & '70's. My Grandfather put a trumpet in my hands at 5 years old and taught me how to play. I could go on and on but I won't.

A friend sent this youtube link over to me. A small group covering Chicago's "Make Me Smile." This was one of our signature songs when I worked with a 10 piece show band in the '70's. Brought back some memories and these guys really nailed it.

Hope you have a minute to listen.

It got me going and off my butt. Gotta get ready for some company.

One of my favorites by Chicago Transit Authority. Later, it was just Chicago and I still like their music because of all the brass.

Growing up in the San Francisco music scene in the 60's I was fortunate to see Chicago at least 5 times. They were great . Other brass band favorites were Sons of Chaplin, Tower of Power and Paul Butterfield to name a few.
