    The Little Rascals

The Little Rascals / Our Gang

Don't know about y'all, but I grew up watching The Little Rascals and always enjoyed them.

There's one episode where the gang is shown with their own kid volunteer fire department. Complete with a dog powered fire engine and others pulled by goats and mules. The engine that has the dog inside it, also has a cat in a cage and the dog is tied up. A rope is pulled which drops a piece of wood that allows the dog to see the cat. When the dog sees the cat he then tries to chase it, but is standing on a looped belt, kind of like a treadmill. The dog makes the belt turn which then turns the wheels on the kid size fire engine.

    Sure brings back memories.

My favorite line from The Little Rascals as they hit the middle of a hill on some kind of home made "vehicle":

    (Buckwheat) "Put onna brakes, 'Panky!!!"

(Spanky) "There ain't no brakes, Buckwheat!!!"

Entertainment far too simplistic for todays oh so sophisticated electronically raised children and it wouldn't keep their attention anyway as it was not anime.
