How's the weather at your place? - June 2016

    Welcome to June!

Our members reported a vast mix of weather in May - from a heat wave in the east, lots of rain to the Southeast, violent storms in the Midwest, snow in Colorado and Wyoming, and cool/damp in the Northwest.

June brings us our summer solstice (longest daylight day of the year) which is on the 20th. This is the start of astronomical summer. Meteorological summer begins on the 1st.

Full moon in June is also on the 20th and is called the Strawberry Full Moon. June is when the harvest time of the strawberries are.

Greetings- In the Pacific NW our strawberry started mid-May, about two weeks early due to the warm spring weather. Now with hot temps the picking will quickly come to an end soon.

Once again a very comfortable night with an overnight low of 52°. High yesterday was 85° once again and calling for the same today.

A weather news artcle I read calls for a big pattern change upcoming for the Northeast. Looking at the forecast for next week shows highs in the lower 70's and lows in the upper 40's - now that is more like it!

    Texas flooding

I hope all you Texicans are high and dry; I know some of you are having a rough...and wet...time. Seems as if it isn't over yet. Take care and may God Bless.

Kind of warm overnight with a low of 63°. Yesterday's high was 88° again. Calling for a high of only 76° and humid with scattered thunderstorms.

Still looking forward to next week when the pattern changes to give us highs in the lower 70's.

55 this morning with a high of 95 predicted. It is supposed to get warmer the next week. Just finished a huge bowl of fresh picked strawberries with a smidge of granola, 1/2 a banana, almonds and walnuts. That has been breakfast for the last 4 weeks now. I have been picking strawberries for a month now and I am still loving them. Shortcake anyone?

Things look a tad problematic for getting anything done outside today and the next few days.
