I donít have immediate plans on using it, but this tractor isnít going to be just a show piece. Itís going to be a usable machine, moreso than it came from the factory if I have my way.

A true restoration would have replaced worn parts like this. How does that saying go? ďPay me now or pay me later.Ē Or ďif itís worth doing, itís worth doing it right.Ē Or ďitís more expensive to do it right the second time.Ē

Of course logic would say if you arenít going to use it....donít bother.

    Itís gonna bother me....

I heard somewhere that the older tractors have a different size/spline count shaft. Will it actually work with your implements?

I would just weld some beads onto the splines and then grind them so they are the right shape.

Just do what your gut is telling you to do.

These old tractors could do more with worn out parts than the brand new tractors could do on their first day.

You are the one on the seat.

If you want that spline to be back to what it was, then you can get it done.

FWIW, I didn't know your roller was PTO powered....

dieselshadow already beat me to the answer--same size shaft as our new ones---and no i won't weld them up--somewhere someone has a new old stock one sitting around--hopefully. i know my uncle replaced his on his model A-probably over 20 yrs ago---now he probably didn't like the price of a new shaft-as he opted for a used one from out west for $50-it may of been 30 yrs now
