I'm interested in what you went with to replace the R4's as well.

    Hey Guys!

Most of our property is low lying area around a pond. Because of this, the R4s were tearing things up more than I had hoped when I mowed. Especially when I would turn. I had turfs on my previous tractor so I am hoping that these will do better. I did notice significantly better traction this winter plowing with the turfs on.

I had priced out getting a set of turfs from my Deere dealer but they were crazy expensive. I found a tire dealer in TN who had purchased a bunch of Deere turf tires and rims from a distributor and was selling them way cheaper than what my dealer could do.

The tires are Galaxy Mighty Mow. Same as what would have come on the tractor had I ordered it with them.

I've had my 3039 with R4's for 2 years now but have yet to spend any time in the snow with it which is very unusual for us. Anyway, I hear the R4's leave a bit to be desired in the snow, is that right?

Sorry to hijack your thread but hopefully this will keep it at the top. GLWS!

Granted I only had the R4s on for one season. But there were times when I would struggle for traction in wet snow or on ice. This year with turfs i had no problems whatsoever. I'm sure chains would have made a world of difference with the R4s. However, traction in snow/ice wasn't the primary reason for the change to turfs.

    Thanks!
