    Steering cylinder fitting leaking

    Hi Guys
On my 1026R the 90deg hydraulic fitting in the steering cylinder is leaking. It has a rubber o-ring that is broken. I have tried replacing the oring but it still leaks.
Does anyone know what this part is so I can order one? (The whole fitting)
Can I wrap this with Teflon to help seal it, being careful not to get any Teflon inside?

The oring does not seem to make a good seal and looks like it is always binding up, squishing and ripping.

    Thanks for the help guys!

Are you sure your using the correct o-ring? Teflon tape is really not recommended for hydraulic use.

    Probably not
I purchased a metric O-ring kit and used the one that looked close

I would rater replace the whole thing if I knew what it was. Is there a parts list anywhere? I should be able to get this from any hydraulic shop I assume?

    Thanks

These are not metric o-rings Gooch,
The parts diagrams are free at www.jdparts.com (there are some sticky threads in the help section on how to use it), here is what I found:

Sometimes, "close" is good enough... sometimes it isn't... If your "close" o-rings are leaking, then this time "close" might not be close enough....

I bet you'll spend more time, $$, and fuel tracking down "close enough" o-rings than you would if you call your nearest J-D dealer, give them the part number... They might even have it in stock... Buy once, buy right...

    Good Luck!
