    2210 Question

My hydraulic sight glass is 1/2 full when setting overnight. After running for an hour there is nothing in the sight glass except what looks like white foam. I've change out the fluid twice to be sure it has no water in it. But it still does the same. Is this normal? I'm not having any problems but I don't want any either.

You will not see fluid in the sight glass when it is running. It is meant to be checked when shut down for at least an hour or 2 with all hydraulic implements on the ground or lowered and the fluid cooled to ambient temperature.

Seeing a little foam is OK. What you actually might be seeing is just a film of the fluid that has stuck to the glass. When you look at a sight glass you are not looking directly into the transmission but a port that shows the level equal to what is in the transmission.
