    Hydraulic pump 1025R 1023 and 2025R

I think maybe all three use the same hydraulic pump but set at different pressures. 1023= 2150psi, 1025r= 2,000 psi, 2025r= 2150 psi according to JD
Anyone know if it is in fact the same pump?

The part # for the 2025 pump is LVA20924 and the part # for the 1023/1025 is LVA19035. Couldn't tell you the difference but maybe that'll help.

    pump

the 2025R gen 2 pump has more volume to compensate for the greater steering force needed for the larger tires , have though about putting on my 1025R to increase volume but that will not increase PSI that is controlled by the PSI regulator in the manifold , I think it will make the hydraulics more responsive but haven't wanted to spend the money on speculation

Great, now I need to find a drawing for each to ascertain if there are any external physical differences. The jd published pressure for the 1023 and 2025r is 2150psi and the 1025r is 2000psi. I'll bet the pumps are the basically the same

sounds like your going down the same road I am. I thought the steering pump was a separate pump. So the pressure regulator is in the manifold? Humm......guess I need to order the shop manual.

interesting; I can get a drawing of the 2025r pump and system but all I find for the 1025R is the part number and a link to order the part. What are they trying to hide I wonder?

    pump

it will bolt up i have no doubt of that it uses the same gasket hose and hardware on both the 1025R and the 2025R , just not sure how much the extra volume will help

You could be right. Below are the illustrations for the two pumps. Unfortunately they chose to show a front view for the 1-series pump and a rear view for the 2025R pump but they look very similar and the gasket (shim) is the same part number for both.

I never realized that the hydraulic pump for the 1-series and Gen-2 2-series attached to the rear of the transaxle. I assumed it bolted to the engine like the pump on my 2720. Then I looked at the Gen-2 2032R/2038R and saw that it looks like their pumps attach to the front of the transaxle and not the engine.
