    1025R cannister

In a previous thread, someone had mentioned a cannister located along the fuel line to take the air out when changing an in line fuel filter. What is it, where is it, and what does it do ? Thanks in advance.

It's the lift pump, or pre-pump, if you will. It's under the hood, behind the engine, mounted on the fire wall. You'll see fuel line coming from the underfloor filter on the left side, and fuel line going to the main fuel filter on the right side. It supplies fuel to the main filter which then goes to the main injector pump. When it's operating, you can hear it "clicking" with the key on, engine off. When you change the filters, turn the key on for a few seconds without starting the engine, and the pump will bleed the line. You should hear the pump run a little faster (I believe) and you can watch fuel fill up in the main filter bowl. When it's done you'll hear the pump noise return to normal.
