Sorry if this already discussed, its my first time posting and I couldn't see anything about this specifically. I saw that this is an issue that a lot of 1023/1025/1026 have had issues with the rockshaft snap ring coming off. I was plowing snow with my 1023e, which has 25 hours on it, and the entire rockarm came off. Unfortunately I only use this tractor for snow removal and occasional yard work, so it is currently over 2 years old and not under warranty. Also the nearest Deere dealership is 84 miles away. I am going to try to deepen the groove for the retaining Snap ring and replace it with one from fastenal. I called the dealership and they were of no help, even after I sent the repair paper that another poster had taken a photo of. My issue is that the L snap ring was not in the groove, and when I set it in the groove, and moved the rockshaft and rockarm snug with the housing on the L side there is play between the arm and the ring groove on the R side. I just wanter to make sure that that is normal, or if I should shim it with washers or something.
This is with the arm on, that gap between the arm and groove is the concern.
This the on the R side, which is more snug.
Thanks for your help.
