    Position control depth stop upgrade

The position control depth stop toggle clamp on my 1025 was mushing the plastic slot, and spreading the slot apart, whenever I set the depth stop.
I bent a piece of aluminum flat stock into a square shouldered 'U' and drilled a hole in the center for the toggle bolt to fit through.
Once in place, the toggle clamp slides easily on the plastic "rails" but stops the plastic from spreading the slot apart when the toggle is locked down.

Yup. Did that to mine for the same reason. When the plastic spread it wouldn't hold its position.

    Nice job.

Great job! Thats one thing I feel was VERY cheaply made and could have easily been engineered so much better...as you proved. My machine had about 4 hrs on it when it arrived and the very first time I tried to set that it pulled apart. Now I am very careful the way I adjust it. Im sure a company like Big Green could produce these pieces for $.05 or less. I am not the "part building type" so if anyone knows of some place where these are for sale PLEASE let us know. Id gladly pay for the part to fix this!

I just used a washer on mine. It’s what I had and had a minute to spare that day. Works good and I can not believe JD didn’t at least put a washer on it. Your bent bracket looks very professional!

I just thought maybe mine was missing something when I went to set it for the first time. Nice job another thing on my list to upgrade. Hope you don't mind if I copy.

Made 3 more of these today. Nothing fancy or pretty like would come out of Kenny's shop Just rough cut some scrap, bent, drilled and filed, but functional.

Hiwire, if you want one PM me, I'll hold one for you. That'll leave 2 available if someone wants one.

    2 spoken for, 1 left.

I'm attaching a picture of the adjustable stop from the parts catalog to show how it's put together. This is from the 1025 catalog but one is going to be put on a 2025 and we believe it's the same.

To get the stop off the tractor: There's a lock nut underneath the rectangle part the stud screws into, that keeps the rectangle from falling. You have to loosen the stud all the way then spread the plastic apart, then the whole thing comes out. Do it about half way between the rockshaft and the SCV where the plastic will spread the easiest. At least JD put a lock nut on the stud, otherwise it would fall into places that require cussing.

Although this is a good fix I think mine was cheaper and less time consuming. The first time I went to use it I had the same problem. My fix was to hold the plastic together with my finger and thumb as I clamped it down. Plastic doesn't spread and nothing to add to make it work.

    Kyle,

You have to throw in the "But WAIT, if you order now, you can get TWO of the Kyle's Kustom Klamp Systems for just $19.99 plus shipping and handling."

For your convenience, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Paypal, Venmo and numerous other P2P payment methods accepted....

We have Kenny's Bolt on Hooks and now Kyle's Kustom Klamps.......I love the entrepreneurial spirit. Except Kyle's appears to be a volunteer effort at this point. Kyle, I think this is a kit which others would purchase to make this upgrade easy for them.......It just occurred to me that you probably don't want to market these as the KKK system.....

Seriously, it it nice of you to help others like this. Not everyone has the tools and facilites to produce helpful items. You are a nice guy to help others like this. Not that I ever doubted you were / are a good guy......!!!
