    1986 JD 650 PTO issue

I recently bought a JD 650, the PTO engages BUT when I pull lever up to disengage it keeps turning. If I hold up on the lever it stops dead. It looks like an adjustment bolt with a jam nut is located next to the switch I tried to adjust but no luck the lever just drops back down. The switch is being contacted but the lever does not seem to have any resistance to stay up against swith.
    Any suggestions?

There is a spring and detent ball on that shaft inside the transmission that holds the lever up.

Can you post a pic of this bolt and nut?

As far as I know, the PTO lever as no adjustment. It's either engaged or dis-engaged. It is possible there is wear in roll pins(#22-23), wear in the shift pawl(#15), or a problem in the over-running clutch, causing a drag on the PTO shaft.
