    Asking new 1023/1026 owners;

    Is the new hydro transaxle made of aluminum or iron???
    And is this oil cooled unit a cooler ride than the air cooled unit of the 2210/2305???

    I suspect they are AL, even the 3x20 series uses it. I also read that the dreaded hydro fans are history, they both use coolers now.

    Yes, ding dong the fan is gone! I "inspected" a 1023 in detail a couple weeks ago, the thread is posted elsewhere on greentractortalk. The hydro is now oil cooled with a cooler in front of the radiator. The oil filter is also relocated up in between the chassis rails. I'm betting the ride will be noticeably cooler without that fan blowing hot air up your butt. LOL What I couldn't be sure of is the hydro case construction as I had no magnet on me. Sure looks like a sturdier design.
