Question 1025R with 60 inch mower bogs down going uphill

Would love your opinions. My 1025R has 80 hours. Noticed today while mowing, going uphill, about 15 deg. grade, tractor gradually slows down and may actually stall. Seems like new problem. Mower has mulching attachment. Transmission fluid level is good, but tractor was warm. Happens in low or high gear, but worse in high gear. In 2 or 4 wheel drive. Did have a hydraulic leak at 40 hours, but caught it early.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

You probably need to replace the under the floorboard fuel filter. You’re describing a fuel starvation issue to a “T.”

Does the engine bog down or does rpm hold but speed decreases?

Agree I would change the baby fuel filter under the floor board.

Also IMO L range would be a better choice. My slope is 17-20° I can mow it in H range but seems like I'm pushing the very last ounce of energy out the transmission.

What RPM are you running ,,,should be 3200

    Thumbs up tHANKS

I will do right away. I replaced the larger fuel filter a few days ago, and it surprised me how dirty it was! Must be getting some bad fuel. The air filter I received in a kit from Amazon, was too long.

Any other mods you feel are mandatory? Thanks again.

Definitely change the under the floor board filter, that one will load up before the canister filter, report back if this corrected the issue.
Also agree with ET, low range is best, high range is for transport IMO.

I agree with the filter but I asked this because we had a rash of this in the spring. Due to many uses of different words around the country I want to clarify what bogged down meant. I take it as engine lugging but other might mean slowing down. We had a lot of people with filled tires and low air pressure in them and on hills the rims were spinning in the tires.

I'd also say its a clogged filter.....I put some posts as other about removing that filter...running continuous line and putting filter on the engine compartment. That small filter keeps line clean going to the fuel pump and is a design flaw (my take) from John Deere or is a maintenance profit item....

I meant engine lugging down. Started a month ago, but mild then, now almost a stall. I'll change it today. Thanks everyone!
