    260B Backhoe Slow Swing

Just recently purchased a new 1025R with a360B backhoe. The swing seams to be extra slow to me. It also sounds like it strains the hydraulics when moving. I'm talking about an empty bucket, not pushing dirt, just moving side to side. I have seen complaints about quick jerky movements, but not slow like this. Is it possible that they installed some type of restricter to slow it down? I want to stop back at the dealer and try another one to see if it is the same but haven't had the time to do so. At 2000 rpm, how long should it take to go from extreme right to left?

At 2k rpm it will take about 1.5-2 seconds or so to swing from one side to the other. I run mine at 2200 to 2400 and have no problems any movements. Silly question, have you greased all the fittings, there is 11 to 13 grease zerks on the BH. Remember, this BH is not one of the big boys and it is rather slow and jerky.

Make sure that your FEL control stick is not in float mode. I was having a similar issue and found that I was putting the bucket down and leaving float on while running the backhoe. This makes all operations with the backhoe run about 1/2 speed.

I have not greased it yet, it has 3 hours on it and it appears well greased from the dealer. I am a fan of proper maintenance so it will be done regularly. I did have the how off and noticed there is at least one fitting that looks like you couldn't get to it with it mounted. I did grease that one. I'll time how long the swing takes and post this weekend.

Front loader not in float position, but good to know.

One thing to try - doesnít cost anything and takes but a few seconds.

Disconnect and reconnect the power beyond hose. Sometimes these hydraulic connectors will not seat fully and restrict flow. Usually this will affect all operations but you never know....worth a quick try.

is the swing the only thing running slow? or are all bh functions slow?

make sure the rock shaft (draft arm) control is in down position...

at least thatís where it needs to be after mounting a 270B. perhaps the 260B is similar.

Swing only. All other functions are normal. It really makes a sound like there is a restriction someplace. I'll do some checking and see if I can find anything. May just have the dealer check it but unless I take it there they charge. Not that big of a deal but hard to find the time when they are open.

I've had the how off and on a couple of times so I know it is connected. It's only the swing, all other functions are normal.

I had a chance to time the swing, at 2000 rpm, full side to side, is about 7 seconds. I have a video, don't think I can put it on here

Went back to the dealer this morning and tested another backhoe. It was twice as fast as mine. They are picking mine up on Wednesday. Hopefully it won't take too long for them to fix.
