    1026R with a 655 or 647 tiller

Going to pick up a 1026 next week. What would be a good tiller to get the 655 or the 647?

    Kirk,

According to Deere's website it recommends either for the 1026R. More important, which one do you want? And what are you using it for?

the. what your using it for is a key part
as well as the conditions, if theres clay soil then the 647 would be your
    better option

It becomes easy to judge rear attachment side clearance when the attachment hanging out back is smaller than the bucket in clear view out front. Hence my choices for my 2320 were a 53" bucket in front and a 647 tiller and RC2048 cutter. So when tilling or cutting down a fence line or side of a building I truly have very little worry. If the bucket passes, so will whats behind.

The rated PTO HP between the 2320 and 1026R is identical. I've worked my 647 very hard or the 647 has made my tractor work very hard. I would not want to increase the workload and run a 655. I think the 647 is the better choice for our PTO HP.

Using a 647 with my 1026r on very heavy clay soil... works well.
