    Low Idle speed on 1026R

Just noticed tonight that my 1026 idles @1500 RPM, this seems high to me. What do you all think?

    Operating Range 1575 - 3370 rpm

That is straight out of the owners manual. Here is a tip, a service and parts manuals are well worth the money.

    Another of my goofy threads.

Randy's right. Also, my 2320 has the same engine (3TNV76) and it idles at 1500. You are right where you need to be.

I tested a 1026R today and I noticed that it seemed to start at a higher RPM than a 2320, could be just me though. The 1026R is a real nice machine.

Thanks for all the input. I finally took a good look at the owners manual and all of you are right. Guess I'm just use most diesels idleing @900-1000 RPM.

High idle on diesels is to maintain low emissions.
