New Manual for 1026R: Issue D1

Got delivery on my 1026R in late summer. It came with an "Issue A1" operators manual (paper). The Deere site now has an "Issue D1" version, with several substantive changes.

Perhaps most importantly, one needs it for the 50-hour service interval, in that D1 shows how to pull and clean the Transmission Suction Screen. I found out the hard way that the paper copy A1 version did not do so, after I had already drained the transmission oil for the 50-hour change!

I guess it is best to check back to the Deere product support site regularly, for the latest version of the manuals... lesson learned.

    See http://manuals.deere.com/cceomview/O...dex.html?tM=FR for "Issue D1" ...

I guess! Though one would think that Deere would alert all registered owners to such an important bit of information.....similar to a recall notice

    How to download manual?

Hi, all - new 1026R owner here in MA. Nice-looking machine, and I expect great things of it. Traded down from a much larger compact to be able to get around in smaller spaces with the 49" bucket and 47" blower. Also for the easy changeover - we do get creakier with age.

Mine came with the D1 manual, but I'm sure there will be more updates, on such a new design. I was unable to find any way to download that file. It also seems only to be printable one little section at a time, or viewable as HTML. Pretty much every other product I've bought in the past decade or two has free and easy manuals available for download - even some much older products, as they get the documents scanned and on-line. (Found a nice one for a 40-year-old snowblower, for example.) First experience with JD post-sale support...

Looking forward to blasting through drifts in a couple of months.

    Cheers-

    KQ
