Mark's neighbor, the car junk yard decided to raise the grade on their property (behind his house) by 20' or more. They brought in truckload after truckload of fill dirt.
The net result was that Mark's garden of many years was left as basically a pond which would not drain.
So, Mark had some contractor bring in what they called "top-soil" to raise the grade of his garden somewhat so that it would drain.
Based on what I saw, his top soil was really fill dirt.
There were lots of #2 rocks in it, and it had been delivered when very muddy, so the skid steer which leveled it left it in a huge mess.
By the time we got there, it was dry and hard on top. So, this was quite a challenge for Johnny and the King Kutter XB.
However, we eventually got it tamed. Mark was very happy with the result.
This was filmed before Katriel went to China. She explains how she got the internship in detail in this video.
Mark is a wonderful man. Katriel REALLY enjoyed talking with him. She was so excited on the way home. He is funny, and he treated her with respect and dignity.
We've found that sort of thing repeatedly in our projects.
I'm convinced that folks who take the time to raise gardens are some of the best folks around!
