    260 backhoe install on 2305

Hello everybody, my name is Eric and I just became a member. I recently bought a 2005 2305 with 88 hours. I want to install a 260 backhoe and i have the tools, ability and time do the job but I was looking for some tips and better instructions for the job. I understand the instructions are vague at best and I will take any advice i can get. One thing i hear is the power beyond kit can be tricky as far as where the fittings go. one more thing is I am 6'-8" tall ( I know, I look Like i'm on a toy LOL). Will I gain much seat height with the seat swivel ? I don't want to have to cut a hole in my roof to drive! Thank you in advance for any help!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes. I just sold My Ford 1710 tractor with 758A backhoe, we bought it new in 1983. Now I just have to get used to a smaller unit. I am looking forward to my first Deere and all the resources from my fellow green tractor lovers!

    Welcome from New York.

Regarding the swivel seat, I don't know how much the mechanism raises the seat in the driving/forward position as I never sat on a non-BH 1-series, but it does raise it slightly in the backhoe position.

It's been a few years, but I recalled that there were at least 2 versions of the 260 BH frames, (the frame on the BH, not the tractor subframe), one that fit the 2210, 2305, 1026R, 1023E and 1025R and a later version that only fit the 1-series, not the earlier 2210 and 2305. The difference is in the spacing of the subframe/BH connection points. Here is a link I found that may explain the difference:

    http://www.greentractortalk.com/foru...ame-1026r.html

I think that you can get different parts to cross-fit any model tractor to any version BH, but I'm not sure what's different or what subframes are available for which tractor.

I just wanted to pre-warn you about fitment, depending on where you will be getting you subframe and BH.

Just my 2 cents and good luck, it should be fun to do.

Should be pretty much the same install as on a 26R, 25R or 23E I would guess. Although I had a Dealer install everything as I wanted it done right! And It was. I thing the big gripe from those who did their own install was the need to find a 200Lb Torque wrench? Don't exactly remember etc. Anyway, following this thread and good luck. Yes, there are two different mounting araingments..... The old and the new. There are photos on GTT that shows the difference. Your Dealer or Mutton should be of a great help there.
