1025R Snow getting into battery compartment

I have a new 1025R with 54" snowblower. I noticed after blowing snow the battery compartment was filling with snow that came in through the front screen. Has anyone found a way to block the screen to prevent this? Thank you for your help!

How much snow? The terminals are still covers with the rubber cover right?

Conduction/shorting shouldn't be a problem. I connect a batteryminder to the posts and the snow needs to be cleared each time.
