    Wrench free top link

Has anyone tried this? I used to snug the upper link by hand bit found it would eventually come loose after operating awhile. Figured it would be easier than carrying wrenches to snug the nut.

I was carrying two crescent wrenches for snugging the nut on the top link and side lower arm? Figure this was easier so I made it this morning.

This top link is "wrenchless" in two ways.
    1) it latches it self into location
    2) the "latch" is the wrench to rotate the top link.

In the pic, the wrench must be pushed down to un-latch.

I normally have it latched in the top position, rather than down,,,

DO NOT ask the cost of that JD top link!!

Some things a man JUST has to have,,,
Levi, BigJim55, spferdil and 1 others like this.
Some of the tractors include JD 4105, JD 855, JD 650,,,, and,,, the IH 584 4WD
My favorite attachment is the homemade landplane,,, EVERYONE needs one of those!!

    Upper link

Going to check length today. I have found a few available for larger tractors. That's a great piece. They are a little bit expensive for the larger tractors but not too bad. That link you have is totally worth the convienence. I have a mill and a lathe but it would be easier to buy than fabricate one.
