New Echo 58volt Battery Chain Saw

Just picked this up a couple of days ago. Works real well. Has a 5 year warranty on the saw and battery. I already have the Echo Power Head which uses the same battery. The chain saw comes with the largest battery they offer, 4amp hour while the power head runs all of the same attachments which fit the 2 stroke power unit. I have the string trimmer, pole saw, edger, bed re-definer, small tiller head, brush saw, hedge trimmer and probably others, I would have to look......

Strange to have a real saw making cuts just as the gas saws do, without the engine noise. You just hear the chain on the bar and that's pretty much it. Fast response on the trigger. Very handy to get out and cut up some limbs, etc. Make sure the bar oil is full and snap in the battery and go. Uses the same chain and bar as my other 16" Echo saw.

Echo suggests running the battery down quite far before charging. My friend who is the local dealer for Echo just completed a special school and certification for the battery tools and he said they have a program which tells every detail about the battery when they snap it in to test it. Tells how many times it was charged, for how long, the depletion of the battery before charging and very detailed history of the use of the battery.

Using the power head for trimming grass and also edging, I haven't ever run out of battery while work remained. The power unit comes with the 2amp hour battery and that battery has been very good for the needs of the string trimmer. But now having the largest battery they offer as a 2nd battery, I have a nice backup for either tool.

Another nice feature is you can buy the tool with or without the battery. Now that I have two batteries, any other 58volt tools I won't need to purchase a battery with it, which makes the cost much less. Saw price out the door with the battery, charger, extra chain and tax was $335.

Check out the warning labels on the saw handle. Think they covered just about everything........

The other extreme from the 58 Volt Saw is this Gas Powered Beast

Just got this and its power is impressive. Cleans up the spring debris like a wild man. You have to be careful as it will strip the grass right out of the yard. I used it to clean up after stump grinding on the tree which just got cut up and removed yesterday and it was very handy at getting the saw dust and bark and other pieces off of the stone.

This backpack blower moves air just like my Wheel Blower from Billy Goat. I also have the 770 series back pack blower, which was the largest one Echo made prior to this monster. I plan to sell the 770 as there is no need for me to have both. I wanted this blower to deal with the fall leaf piles and it already has proven it was a great choice. I was able to get it for $510, it's retail price is $600........

Definitely want to wear hearing protection with this bad boy. It sounds like a dirt bike running and its air movement is unlike anything portable I have ever tried or used.....The blower tube is more than double the diameter of the other blower and it uses it.........I added another section to the tube as due to my height, the longer blower tube helps me get it to the right height for comfortable use.

What size chain does it use?
I bought a GreenWorks 40v. It uses .043ga 3/8" LP (low profile) chain Might be narrower kerf too? . Smaller than my gas saws use so no interchange.

I had looked at Milwaukee, Husqvarna, and DeWalt cordless saws. About 2x or more $$$ than the GreenWorks. I did not know about Echo cordless when I bought.

Sounds like a powerful saw especially if it uses full size chains.
