New points really made a difference.

So when my son takes my wife, dog and I for a ride around the block there is a pretty good hill that he has to go up. Before the poor little cub just didn’t have quite enough with us in the trailer.

Well it started really acting up and missing. And after checking t hinge out it was down to the points.

Tonight he took us around and that little cub climbed right on up the hill. Didn’t know hey something so simple could make such a difference.

Back when EVERYthing had points that would have been one of the first steps in troubleshooting. Now that we're so spoiled to the magic of electronics we tend to overlook the obvious.

And, unfortunately, in this age of electronics, points aren't always "obvious" any more. To old guys like us, they still are.

I quit working on lawn and garden equipment for a living back in '87 or so. Electronic ignition was just then becoming the norm for single cylinder B&S engines at the time.

At the time, I still had an old Gravely Model-L that used a magneto!
