How do I order parts? What model number?

    Hi all,

Just want to order some maintenance parts for my 2018 1025R. So I go over to partscatalog.deere.com just to get part numbers. They list 2 tractors:

    1025R - TRACTOR, COMPACT UTILITY
    1025R Compact Utility Tractor ( -1LV1025RLHJ100000)(Worldwide Edition) - PC11842
    1025R - TRACTOR, COMPACT UTILITY
    1025R Compact Utility Tractor (1LV1025RLHJ100001- )(Worldwide Edition) - PC13294

The paperwork from my dealer lists the product ID of my tractor as starting with 1LV1025RCJJ....

Assuming "RC" is less than "RL" I'm thinking the first one. BUT I also know that 2018 saw some changes, which would lead me to believe I have the second one? Any wisdom on this?

Also, for things like oil, filters, etc are the 2018 models the same as the earlier ones? On greenfarmparts.com they have a kit with the disclaimer:
Used on 1025R serial numbers -153036 and below.

Mine number is larger than thad, adding more confusion.

    Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Does your tractor have a straight ROPS upper section or does it lean forward towards the front of the tractor?

Yes. Ignore the "R". That's a part of the model number or what Deere calls a "family type". They also added a character to the serial number in 2016 that is a 2nd "Family type". That's the "L" that follows the "R".

The "HJ" are the significant portions of the serial number you need to be concerned with and really, the "H" is all that matters here. That "H" is the calendar year of manufacture marker. "H" = 2017.

You're machine has a "J" as it's calendar year of manufacture. That'd be 2018. (Deere doesn't use "I" to avoid confusion with "1".) "J" comes after "H" so you'd want the 2nd choice or "PC13294".

1LV1025RCJJ That first 'J' should be the calender year of a 2018.

1025R Compact Utility Tractor (1LV1025RLHJ100001- )(Worldwide Edition) - PC13294 should be the catalog you use in general. Be aware though, if a part in question doesn't look like what they show in the catalog, try the other. We have found parts on a 2016 listed in the newer catalog before. I've found the pictures to be very accurate, so again if it doesn't look right, try the other catalog. As far as filters, I believe they are the same for the years of the 1025, with the exception of the air filters. Those depend on which filter housing the tractor has.

This is good advice!! Many times it pays to double check parts against the other versions of the parts list. If you look closely at the parts catalogs for the last couple years you will notice that JD drastically changed the format on how they break down the sections and which assemblies appear in certain sections. Where previous catalogs (including the recently discontinued legacy parts system) seemed to be arranged very logically, these new catalogs required a bit of a scavenger-hunt approach to finding parts. Ironically they did a similar reorganization to recent owner's manuals by removing the logical layout and making it very difficult to find information. A good example is an owner's manual that for years had around 19 sections and then was re-written to contain almost 50 sections, even though the information presented is the same.

It definitely pays to double-check part numbers before ordering anything.
