Anomaly with *NEW* JD Parts system

I thought I would post this here since similar instances may be present for other tractor models.

I was looking up parts for my X500 garden tractor and noticed the wrong part numbers were listed for the maintenance kit and various items like air and oil filters.

Upon closer inspection I saw what the problem is. Depending on the model year, the X500 can have different engines (and other components). Early models used a Kawasaki FH721V and later models use a Kawasaki FS730V.

On the recently deactivated JD parts catalog system, when you went into the X500 catalog it had two separate engine sections, one for the FH721V and one for the FS730V. Each section would have the correct parts for THAT particular engine.

This NEW parts system only shows one engine which just happens to be the OLDER engine (although nowhere does it actually list the model number). There is no mention that two different engines can be used. So anyone looking for engine parts or filter part numbers for a tractor made since around 2011 is going to end up getting the wrong parts.

Not quite sure how one would go about notifying anyone at JD about this issue.

I agree with zebra5 BUT one has to search for 2nd engine listing as it's not close to 1st engine listing.

Hmmm, I will need to recheck. I didn’t recall seeing that second listing but I could be wrong.

I found 3 home maintenance kits listed, and ST559668 & ST559180 are not part numbers, they're catalog section numbers.

Here's what I found. 2 are showing serial number dependant with associated engine models listed. 1 doesn't show serial number but shows a different engine model number. That listing is in 90 Labels and Optional Equipment. I think I've found filter kits in that section before for other models which is why I looked there.

J, the 2 listings correspond with what you said about the FH721V & FS730V. Have you heard of a FD731V ?

I may be mistaken but last time I used it it allowed me to search for parts based off the serial # of the machine.
Would that auto sort for the correct items for you?

The FD731V is the water cooled engine used in the X540.

Good grief... I see it now. I must have stared at that screen for 10-mins. The old parts system and Parts Advisor had the two engine choices listed next to each other. Too bad I can't just delete this thread. :-)

When I looked, today, the two engine sections were one below the other, section 20, then right below it section 21.

No idea why you have the different order of the sections
