I thought I would post this here since similar instances may be present for other tractor models.
I was looking up parts for my X500 garden tractor and noticed the wrong part numbers were listed for the maintenance kit and various items like air and oil filters.
Upon closer inspection I saw what the problem is. Depending on the model year, the X500 can have different engines (and other components). Early models used a Kawasaki FH721V and later models use a Kawasaki FS730V.
On the recently deactivated JD parts catalog system, when you went into the X500 catalog it had two separate engine sections, one for the FH721V and one for the FS730V. Each section would have the correct parts for THAT particular engine.
This NEW parts system only shows one engine which just happens to be the OLDER engine (although nowhere does it actually list the model number). There is no mention that two different engines can be used. So anyone looking for engine parts or filter part numbers for a tractor made since around 2011 is going to end up getting the wrong parts.
Not quite sure how one would go about notifying anyone at JD about this issue.
