Might need a 3/4 inch drive socket set.

Purchased a 2018 2025R Gen 2 last year. I had thought that I already had every size socket I would ever need but am seeing the need for a basic 3/4 inch drive socket set for this machine and attachments. Mostly for routine mataince and bolt checking. Probably a Harbor Freight basic set would be all I would need. Now question is do I need a metric or SAE set or both? Thanks!

do both sets-sae and metric too. then will probably have to add the ones the sets don't have in them. seems that's they way my luck runs.

I have a Craftsman set I bought back in the 1990's. It was expensive back then but it's paid for itself over time. Unless you work on big equipment you won't need it every day but a 3/4 inch socket set will come in handy when you least expect it. A time and money saver if you ask me.

I use only SAE. Seems that most (all?) of the large bolts I have encountered are SAE.

A friend gave me a set of Stanley 3/4" SAE sockets about a decade ago,,
It is great having them,, when you need them,, I also have a matching set of giant combination wrenches in SAE,,

That said,, I think when you get that big,, the tolerance is so great on the sockets,, that SAE will also turn metric fasteners,,

It is like the 3/4" socket that is used on the nuts for a 1/2" bolt,, IIRC,,a 19mm socket ( or wrench ) works just as well as the 3/4" socket or wrench,,,
rtgt, Tractor Tim and NH5acrefield like this.
Some of the tractors include JD 4105, JD 855, JD 650,,,, and,,, the IH 584 4WD
My favorite attachment is the homemade landplane,,, EVERYONE needs one of those!!

Wow, I guess the Gen 2 really got an upgrade!

    New Tools, Heck Yes!

The only thing I have that I really need 3/4 for is the bush hog. I got a 3/4 drive socket and a 1/2 to 3/4 adapter for the blade bolts.

I have substantially increased my open/box end wrench inventory though.

When we moved Dad to Gulfport I acquired a 3/4 ratchet and some other sockets.

I have my eye out for a decent condition used 3/4 breaker bar. (that isn't priced like it is made out of gold)

Might need a 3/4 inch druve socket set.

I broke a Chinese Harbor freight 3/4” ratchet putting a cutting edge on an excavator. Then a few months later broke a 1 3/16” socket. Don’t get the Harbor freight set if your doing a whole lot of torque. Also, they come in 12 sided instead of the sought after 6 sided sockets.

I ended up buying the 3/4" Drive Impact Sockets there much thicker and only use my 3/4" 600 lb Rated Torque Wrench or Breaker Bar so nothing breaks on the big stuff.
