    Rural Life Festival

    This Saturday 7/8/17 in Newburg, PA is the Rural Life Festival.

    Its a nice event with different displays and good food.

    Looking at the pic at the link I am surprised to see an Amish guy. Around here the Amish would never display themselves like that for other people (English) to watch - they won't like it if you even took a pic of them like that.

    Around here it depends on the family. We are friends with a couple of them. One actually asks my wife to take pics of her kids every once in a while.

    I stopped asking questions long ago trying to figure it all out.

    I've seen a few different communities and every one is different. The stories that Levi told being Amish growing up in Michigan(?) were totally different than what I am used to seeing. Even within our fairly local community there are differences within that - all depending on which church they belong to.
