    Newburg PA, Rural Life Festival.

We head to this each year. If anyone is close by it’s worth the trip. Lots of demonstrations of equipment from the horse drawn days of farming. The local Amish help out.

The food is always tasty too.

Some pictures and videos of today’s activities.

Loading loose hay with a hay loader.

Putting hay in the barn with hooks.

The motive power. It impressed me how straight they could back up the “tractors”

Running a hay press. That JD 629 was pure music. They had to insert the wire and hand tie the bales.

Harold Forrester giving a plowing demonstration. He is a multiple time us plowing competition champion. Also used to plow for Dwight D. Eisenhower. He made it look easy. He’s 85.

All and all a fun day.
