    No longer a Jeeper anymore

Traded in my Jeep a couple weeks ago, and picked up this new Tacoma. So far I have been extremely happy with it. Should be great with hauling home garden tractor attachments, and home improvement projects.

No offense intended, but every Chrysler product I've ever owned has been a giant turd sandwich.

An aquaintance had a very "newish" Grand Cherokee that needed $8k in electrical work slightly out of warranty. He got smart and dumped it off for a Honda.

Toyota trucks have been very reliable for the past 30ish years, and their cars have come a long way in that time as well. We got a Sienna for my FIL's wheelchair accessible "cripple cruiser", and that's been problem free since the day we picked it up 2yrs ago.

I think you made a wise move! Congrats.

Does that mean you will change your user name? Looks good, should serve you well!

Well, that illustrates the term "never say never". Either that or your life ended since you listed yourself as "jeeper4life".

Thanks guys! I have owned a Jeep vehicle of some type for well over 10 years, it was just time for a change. That said I wouldn’t mind a user name change. Lol

Congrats on the new truck. We still have a 2003 Wrangler we bought new. It's just a 3rd vehicle for running messy errands now, like picking bags of stuff from Lowes, etc. But it still runs fine. I took out the back seat years ago for cargo space. The only repairs so far have been a map sensor, which I fixed myself, and another sort of crankshaft sensor. I don't remember what you call it now, but it caused the engine not to start and I had to have it towed. It is something mounted down on the side of the engine. The dealer said rodents had chewed through some wires going to the thing. They also replaced some gear in there that gets worn out.

Other people seem to have better luck with them than me.

    2006 T$C 3.8L with stow'n'go bought new:
Intake gaskets just out of warranty
    Water pump
    Power steering pump
    Power steering cooler and lines
    Radiator
    Front wheel bearings
More electrical gremlins than I care to recall
Giant rust hole in structural sill under side door despite religeous washings since new (year round).
Just had to red Loctite the front wiper arms because the aluminum hinge brackets corroded then stripped their splines and caused the wipers to hit.

    129k.

    That's too bad.
Did you atleast check out the new Jeep truck, before you settled on the Tacoma?

If it has the TuRD package, it could be TurdForLife.
I have more ideas than ambition.
