2018 5 series with deluxe canopy with marker lights

Any folks on here with a 2018 5 series open station with a deluxe canopy that has the marker lights? The canopy has both male and female black/purple bullet plugs for each side, however the only open plugs in the tractor harness are work lights. The canopy lights should come on with the tractor's marker lights. I already have DTAC stumped so I figured I would ask around here.

Do they work when the flashers are turned on. On my 2940 they do whatever the fender lights do. The canopy was mostly installed at the dealer, possible they wired to the wrong wire from light switch. And what are the lights actually doing.

It also may be the e series were not designed for a deluxe canopy with lights and a wiring harness will have to be made to get the lights working.

The wiring harness that came with the canopy is bullet plugs. The only open bullet plugs on the tractor are the work lights, so if I use them then the canopy lights will only come on when the switch is turned to work lights. The weird thing is when you build/price one on the JD site it states that harness adapter AL160408 is needed, but when our salesman made the order it said nothing about it. The harness AL160408 looks to have a different style plug, I won't know till it comes in.

I'll bet this adapter harness plugs into your factory harness (you may have to unplug something, ROPS lights? then plug it into the adaptor harness) then goes to canopy plugs.

On my 2016 5E series we added the deluxe canopy afterwards. The guys who delivered it installed it and I recall they had to (or chose to) splice into a couple wires in another harness to make the connection. It works perfectly - never had a problem.

Since the canopy I installed had no wiring instructions I figured I would try instructions for a different part number and sure enough I found the info I needed and no extra harness needed like the Deere site says. The Canopy harness has 2 black and 2 grey on each side so you unplug whats on the tractor harness, plug canopy into tractor harness and take what you unplugged and plug that into the other black and grey from the canopy. Works great and the customer is happy.
