My father recently acquired a 5400 with no operating manual and both of us are newbs. I have found some manuals online and we've managed to learn most things on our own. But the other day he wanted to disengage the front wheels. If I understand correctly, it has MFWD (manual FWD). All of the 5400 manuals I find online show a switch on the control panel, but his doesn't have that. I did find a small lever to the left of the seat that has the same icon on it as the FWD switches. An arrow circling the front wheels then pointing forward. But we couldn't find any way to move it. I tried combinations of neutralizing the gear boxes, holding clutches, brakes, and anything else I can think of, but I can't move it. I could try to pull harder, but I feel any harder would break the linkage.
Do you know the procedure for disengaging this kind of FWD?
