    5520 Hydraulic Problem

The hydraulic system on my 2003 JD 5520 has some issues. The steering is very jerky and the loader jerks violently with raising or tilting. I've replaced the filter and drained and refilled with JD hydraulic fluid. The reservoir is full. I can't see anything wrong. Any ideas?

About two years ago. The tractor has a little over 400 total hours on it. However, you are absolutely correct. I pulled the screen again and it was covered with sludge and small particles that looked like paper. I have no idea what got into the system. I cleaned the screen tonight and will reinstall it tomorrow once I get a new o-ring. Although I just recently replaced the screw-on filter, I'm going to install a new filter while the fluid is drained. Replacing the fluid again is getting expensive. Thanks for the help!
