    757 Transmission Fluid

In the manual for my 757, it says that the following oil is preferred for the transmission: JD Plus 50 15W-40. But this type of oil is a premium engine oil for diesel engines. Could someone explain this to me because I'm confused on why they say use engine oil and not transmission fluid. Thanks!

    It is what it is.
Our Toro Z-Master used Mobil 1, never had an issue.

The drives in my Kubota ZTR used motor oil as well.

Thought it was kinda odd at the time, but hey, whatever makes the wheels turn.

Most manufactures use Engine Oil in their power-trains for different reasons. One is, engine oil is non-foaming.
My new Z540R used 10W-30 engine oil in the hydro pump and motors.
