  1. Vintage Lawn & Garden Tractors
Hi All, I came back after a couple week vacation and tried to start up my 318 and faced some stalling issues. I pull the choke and she starts fine so I don't think it's an electrical issue. However, after I let it run for a few seconds and close the choke, it dies. If I leave the choke open and...

I have 177 hours on a 2018 5075e. about a year or so ago I had engine surging which led to the fuel pickup screen being replaced after getting clogged by algae. About 6 months ago the same thing happened again. Fuel drained and pickup screen filter screen replaced again along with the fuel...

So long story short I was teaching one of our workers how to drive the tractor about a week ago and he stalled the tractor. Now it won't start. It cranks bit will not fire. I read wires in the starting system and everything is getting power. The injection pump didn't sound like it was clicking...

Hello all, I recently came into ownership of an X475. Ran well once and then failed to start. Seems to be the fuel pump failing. Ordered the JD specified replacement for the original online, the AM115629. Seema to be quite a bit shorter than the original with different connections. Dealer...

Hello everyone, new here and new to the 318. Recently picked one up from a neighbor and immediately had difficulty starting. Found it to be a fuel supply issue, replaced the fuel pump, and it worked great for a while. Last night, I attached the 49 snowblower and started throwing snow. Again...

Today, after mowing with my JD 4044M for about an hour, without warning, it started sputtering, losing power, and finally shutting off. I was able to get it restarted right away. It did this 5 or 6 times, then refused to restart. I took the fuel separator apart and below is the paper element...

Had starring issues with my 4300. Fuel Shutoff Solenoid and Thermistor are both brand new. The tractor starts without any issues. But after a minute or so the Solenoid starts smoking and smells like a electric burn. Any thoughts on how to fix this issue?

Hi all! This is my first time posting on this forum and I'm hoping someone may be able to help me with a fuel issue I'm experiencing on my 1997 John Deere 345. It has the 18hp Kawasaki v-twin liquid cooled engine. Long story short, the tractor was not starting. After a series of troubleshooting...

I’ve got a 2040 serial 227,975 that I’ve tried three fuel gauges in and a new sending unit and all three gauges read full as soon as the key is turned on and stay there no matter fuel level. I’ve ohmed both the new and original sending units and both read between 0-200 depending on position...

my 2305 with 430 hrs just quit running, for no reason, while driving it. It turns over nicely and wants to start. If I give it a little time and almost full throttle it will start for about 30 seconds. I checked the fuel filter-no water. The fuel is not that old-month..Will replace fuel filter...

My house now has a new rule: "Yellow cans shall hold only diesel fuel!" (You can see where this is going, along with one of my older "Oops..." threads.) Anyway, to make a long story short, and condense it to the important facts other newbies might have problems with- I think gasoline will...

Hello Guru's of the Green! :greentractorride: I have scanned and tried suggestions from a couple forums for my issue. I have the tech manual and have tried as best I know to diagnose the electrical nightmare I've stuck in. Any help or suggestions will be attempted and reported on. Thank you in...

We have a 2653B Trim and Surrounds Mower. It will not start. We have gone through most of the diagnostic tests included within the technical manual. Everything has tested within parameters with the exception of the fuel shutoff solenoid. The manual states that when testing the solenoid...

I am at my wits end with this issue. I am not only new to the forum, I am new to tractors. I bought the 2305 in July 2010. I have learned alot, but have a LONG way to go. Last summer I had an issue where my 2305 kept stalling. Basically it would run for 60-90 seconds (more power less time)...
