Hello all. First post here, I'll make it to the point. We wound up with a Shaver HD8 post pounder used from a friend. After searching online, I could not find an answer to whether a Deere 1023 TLB (and 1025) could run a post pounder other than "the specs say it might work". The answer is a definitive YES, it works like a charm. It took a little cobbling to get the hydraulics to dump back to the sump without blowing oil out the breather, and we just throw a bungee around the bucket curl lever send hydraulic back to the pounder. In all, we drove around 30 5/6" green treated 8' posts yesterday for our garden, and we are very impressed with how it worked. The tractor handled it great, as long as the pounder was on its own stand it didnt transmit any shock to the tractor. Anyway, thought you all should know that the 1023/1025 will definately run a Shaver HD8 post pounder. I included a few pics of our crude (but quite functional) hydraulic setup.
