I didn't want to steal the 1025R thread so I'm starting a new one for the 1023E.

The 3 wires going to the tail lights are black green and grey. The lights have two wires... red and black.

So should I got black to black and then red to green?

FYI on the tractor the black has a female connection. The green and grey have male.

I'm adding the Ultra-Tow 15 watt LED lights from Northern Tool.

As I said in another thread I moved the tail lights to the inside of the ROPS and mounted the lights on the outside. One facing the rear, and one facing the front.

One Issue I faced is the bolt for the tail light didn't allow enough clearance for the light to pivot on its bracket. I solved this my using the bolt that came with the light to attach the bracket to the tail light, and then used the JD bolt to attach the light to the bracket.

I used a method a member here mentioned to get the wire through the ROPS. I used some weed eater line to pull the wires through. I also used a socket attached to the line to give it some weight to drop through the ROPS.

I purchased some .180 bullet connectors to use in this project. The thread on what size bullet connectors to use was very helpful.

Using the bullet connectors and some wire I made some Y to go off the tail light wire and neutral from the wire harness.

I also used the bullet connectors to connect the lights to the wire.

Here is everything connected at the bottom. I still need to zip tie everything up to make it more orderly.

The Y I made may be a little long, but I was worried about not having enough wire.

Since the work lights are tied into the tail lights, they come on with the last two positions of the standard switch, so I can have work lights and flashers...:thumbup1gif:

Yes, I did. Shipping and handeling was a little more than I would have liked. I got 50 male and 50 female delivered for about $35 and some change. 50 was the minimum you could order.

I saw some on eBay as well but I think Waytek was the better deal.

Kabic, what wires would I tap into to install a 12v outlet? Also, where would you install the outlet?

I would think that a 12v outlet would be much harder. I'm guessing those charger plugs can pull a lot more amps than my LED work lights so it would probably need a dedicated wire from the battery (with fuse) of the correct size wire for the amps. You would also want to tie to the ignition as I would suspect you want the plug to work only when the tractor is on and you wouldn't want to have the lights be on for the outlet to work.

As for the location you may want to see where it is installed on the 1026R as a plug came standard on that. Take a look at JDparts.com ..you may see how they have the standard plug wired there as well. Maybe someone will post the wire diagram from the 1026...I think I have seen that posted here a time or two.

I just read the 1026R's outlet is fused for 15 amps...for comparison the lights I added were just over 1 each.

The 1025r and 1026r 12v outlets both have a dedicated 15 amp red wire that comes from the right fender light connector, so you would have to run your own wiring.

Also my 1025r 12v power port has power all the time.
