I believe the "spring" to cause tension on the knob assembly is broke. Does anyone have a picture of where this spring attaches? I just bought this tractor and all works like a dream, but the deck will not adjust as the knob just spins freely. A picture of where the tension spring goes on the knob, and another picture of where the selector label that goes on the floor board needs to go (it came loose and also spins, and am not sure where each of the labels such as lock is supposed to be. These would help greatly and be very appreciated. Thanks Ben

Ben the first thing I would do is crawl under the tractor, a lot of that mechanism is in plain view. The height adjustment knob is a press fit, it pulls up and off the shaft.

I suspect the knob shaft is lifted up off the pin. To compensate for the angle off the knob shaft, there is a roll pin at the top of item 15, in the diagram Firemark posted. The knob shaft, item 12, mates with item 15 in a ball and socket arrangement. They utilize a roll pin through the ball of item 15 and the socket of item 12 has a slot that should drop over the roll pin to keep the two items paired together.

I crawled under there to take a look to help Ben. It should be an easy fix. Couldn't walk away without breaking out the fluid film and lubing the whole thing. Ben, when the deck is off and you plan on using a three point implement, make sure you pull the rockshaft lever back to raise the linkage, than dial it to the lock position. This will keep your mower deck quick connect linkage up when you lower your 3pt implement. Unless you want your quick connect coupler full of dirt and or debris and possible damage from it hanging down when you lowere your implement.
