I’ve finally decided to tackle my deck height problems on my 1025, 60d mechanical lift. . I cannot put the deck in the lock position. I have followed the sticky on this forum but I am still having problems. If I remove the deck I can put the control knob in the lock position but when I install the deck it will not go high enough and comes up 2 notches short on the control mechanism. I have the leveling arms as high as they go, but still no luck. Any ideas?

Yes... The leveling turnbuckles have no effect on what you are trying to accomplish. You need to check the adjustment on the aluminum strap with 3 bolts behind the left rear wheel, which is then attached to the left rockshaft lift arm. It needs to be adjusted to lift the entire mechanism higher.

AJ, thank you. After 3 years I got this adjusted. I went to the dealer and got the parts they left off (spacer, washer) assembled it correctly , then adjusted the arm for more lift, and it worked!

For the record, I tried 3 new tractors at the dealership and none would allow you to place the deck in lock position.

Sounds like you dealer needs to sign up for GTT. Maybe he can learn something. :laugh::laugh:

As a side note.. There were also many decals that were installed wrong. So.. The deck may be in the upper most position but the decal shows it isn't. The next screw up was not following the instructions on the setup of the manual lift. You have to get that strap adjusted right. It's simple to do but somehow it gets messed up. I have setup hundreds but I still reference the instructions. I hook and unhook the deck 10x. If it passes that I call it good.
Then.. A double check with wrenches to make sure she's tight.

The 2018 1025's/1023's do not have a lock position on the knob. I have noticed that the 1025 knobs do not turn all the way around like on previous 1025's, even with the strap adjusted. The only solution i found is to adjust the position feedback rod just enough and not too much because it will not hit relief and keep pressure. JD says that the 2018's are not supposed to turn all the way around, but I say the customer will be calling when they want to cut at 4" and the knob stops at 3. The 1023's that were made in 2018 turn all the way around no issues. OK rant over just an issue I deal with every day.

One day I was looking at a 2018 1025R and took the chance to look at all the things that were different. What I found is, the basic tractor design is the same but many of the function switches and levers have been either moved or changed as to how they function.
Concerning the mmm height adjustment. The working parts of the mmm height control, eg. cam and shaft, are the same on both the 2018 and 2013 - 2017 1025R tractors. The only thing that is different is the knob. The knob on the 2018 is only marked in essentially deck height inches and the 2013 - 2017 tractors are marked: Lock which is the same as the 4 on the 2018 tractors, and then the numbers.

So, the look is different but the functionality is exactly the same. Position 4 on the 2018 is lock on the 2013 - 2017.

Really, the lock position on the 2013 - 2017 tractors does't lock anything. It is really just the top land on the cam.

If you check JD parts, you will find the parts for the height control is the same for both early and the 2018 tractors. See below.

i was noticing this past weekend: with my deck off and doing some loader work I couldn't seem to figure out how to lock the deck arms up so they don't lower the autoconnect down with the 3 point. A quick search on this forum found this (old-ish) thread.

I'll try it again this weekend at position 4 and see what happens before bothering my dealer. Thanks gents!

I posted this a while back, but I discovered on my 1025R that the back of the slot in the plastic fender (that the 3 point lift control lever passes through) blocked the full movement of the control lever. The fender was mounted too far forward. After loosening the 3 nuts that hold the fender in place, it slid backwards enough to gain almost an half an inch in lift arm height, and the MMM went along for the ride.

I'd spent over 2 years adjusting the nuts behind the left rear tire to no avail. After moving the right fender interference I was finally able to lock the mower in the full up position.

May have just been my tractor alone, but it turned out to be an easy fix.
