Hi all -

I thought this would be better to continue as a separately defined thread.

I have the JD 47" Quick Connect Snowblower.

It has this plug attached to the bracket section housing the two 'bearing' holes which the mid mount driveshaft inserts into.

I also have this 'plug' hanging off the front of the axle on the tractor itself.

These two plugs don't appear like they will fit together. The tractor plug has a 'flat wing' along each side of the plug. The Snow Blower plug does not seem like it would accomodate the tractor plug.

Are these two supposed to plug into each other? If not... what are each of these plugs for?

Will my snowblower 'shut down' if I 'reverse' the tractor.... much like the mower deck will unless I have something plugged into the Snow Blower plug?

Need your advice quickly - getting dumped on right now with a major snow storm. Thanks all for your quick replies - you guys are the best!!!!!

Wouldn't it be great if it was some unknown option like electric spout deflector adjustment? My 1026R is pre-RIO and my 47" blower in 10 years old, carried over from another machine. So I am no help. Somebody will be along before you get buried.

The tractor plug has a cap on it. You have to remove the cap and then they will plug together.

Thanks...I will give it a try....but what exactly does it do? They don't look like they would fit together even with the caps off each plug.

It should over ride the mid PTO reverse shut off. The snowblower uses a sensor to keep the blower running when you're backing up, unlike the mower deck that will shut off if you try to reverse with it engaged.

Yeah, do the Rio bypass. I then took off the sensor between the two bearings. No worry about plugs or shut downs in reverse. By the way, always engage the pro at idle. Saves the clutch.

For the few that might have lost, misplaced or just never had this protective cover. These two part numbers are what's needed.

57M7257 and 57M7290

The shipping costs more then the parts so bundle them up with other stuff.
